HOPE GILLERMANHope Gillerman has been a certified Alexander Technique teacher for over 20 years. She brings her 17 years of experience as a professional dancer and choreographer to her work as a posture and movement expert. She received her training as an Alexander Technique teacher at the American Center for the Alexander Technique and completed post-graduate training at the Rivka Cohen School for the Alexander Technique.She has taught the Alexander Technique in wellness programs, physical education departments and rehabilitation centers, including the Beth Israel Hospital, Harvard Community Health Plan, Wellesley College and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. As a faculty member, she has established Alexander Technique programs at Boston Universitys Theater Division and Harvard Universitys Institute for Advanced Theater Training. As the media spokesperson for the American Society for the Alexander Technique from 1998-2002, she provided information on the Alexander Technique to numerous venues, including the Arthritis Foundation and Prevention Books. She is featured as an expert source in magazines, such as Elle, Prevention, The New York Times and The New York Sun. She has made television appearances on WNBC, CNN/FN, Discovery Health Channels 21st Century Medicine, and the PBS series Healthy Living with Jayne Seymour. She is currently assistant director of the AmSAT-certified Teacher Training Program at the Manhattan Center for the Alexander Technique and has been on the faculty of two other AmSAT-certfied programs: The Rivka Cohen School for the Alexander Technique and The Alexander Technique Training Center. She maintains a full-time, private practice in New York Citys Union Square in lower Manhattan and shares her office with a Licensed Acupuncturist and Chinese Herbologist: Sheila McLaughlin. She offers corporate training seminars in body-oriented stress management and injury prevention at the computer. HEATHER SNYDERHeather Snyder is a movement education expert with a comprehensive approach to health and fitness. She is a nationally certified teacher of the Alexander Technique and Pilates with a background in dance and performing arts. She believes strongly in providing her students with an educational experience that optimizes their movement potential, and empowers them to change how their bodies look, feel, and function.She teaches both the Alexander Technique and Pilates at her studio, The Graceful Body, located near Union Square. She also teaches in the Teacher Training Program at the Manhattan Center for the Alexander Technique. She offers the Alexander Technique in group settings and has taught workshops at Juilliard, Solo Fitness, New York City Parks Department, and JP Morgan Chase.
